Seis!!!

Well, Jasper is six months old now! Half a year has gone by? Really? Wow! I find it so hard to believe.  This month has brought on some new fun.  Baby food, babbling and laugh attacks!  We are still breastfeeding and going strong, which I am super proud of.  We are both still loving it!  I can't say how special it is to me to be able to do this for him.  He is such a happy boy!
All that rolling over from last month has come to sitting up. He can't sit himself up just yet unless he is already propped up, then from there he can raise up the rest of the way.  He can hold himself in an upright position if you have him sitting up, and he really loves it.
He is grabbing everything and interested in exploring the world around him despite the fact that he isn’t yet crawling.  We are so close to crawling it's killing me!  He wants it soooo bad. He can get that butt in the air but then he's face down getting carpet burn on the face, or scooting backwards. He can get the head up and scoot but can't get the butt and legs to cooperate at the same time.  It's so cute!

We have continued on the solid foods for 2 meals a day now.  He loves drinking his Spinach and blueberry juice,  carrot and yam puree, English pea and tarragon puree and of course brown rice cereal with mashed bananas.  I am so happy that he loves to eat but after every meal he has to still breastfeed.  Which makes me happy.

We are in Portland now for good, except for random trips to Bend to visit Voa Voa and Vo Vo.  I have been lucky and have some catering jobs coming up ( one with Nike)  but other than that I have been enjoying all that the city has to offer.  With Jasper older now he can entertain himself and I can go to the bakeries around town and read.  This is such a nice treat and I get to enjoy the best of what Portland has to offer.
I finally joined a gym,  it has been almost 2 years.  Can't believe it but the 24 hour fitness downtown has free daycare and I need to get back in shape.  It will also give me a nice little break from Doodles so I can continue to be with him 24/7.
I am so proud of who he becoming.  He is finally.......  sleeping in 4 hour increments vs the 2 hour ones.  We put him to bed at 8pm and he gets up at 7am.  I am so excited for this new found energy and sleep.   He takes two 1 1/2 hour naps a day and feeds every 2 hours still.  Waking up to him babbling and laughing just makes my day.  I have been reading him 2 books one after his noon nap and one before bed.  It is so great how he wants to interact.

Jasper is still spitting up but it has become second nature to us, always armed with a towel and a change of clothes for him and us.  He is teething like crazy I can feel his tooth coming in but it has not cut in yet.  He drools like a crazed dog.  His bibs are usually soaking wet after a couple hours.

I am so excited for him to keep on growing big and strong but it does make me super sad that he is growing so fast. I love him so much and Joshua and I look at each other every night and keep saying "we are so lucky".  It is true we never thought life could feel so complete and have so much purpose now.
I am excited for Valentines day even though we don't do anything it will be fun getting some yummy chocolate at the shops around town.  My parents are coming next weekend and my moms best friend Lillian will be coming on the 18th so we will be going back to Bend to hang with some cool kids.

Have a Happy Valentines everyone and eat a lot of chocolate!
