6 Weeks of Light

Jasper is 6 weeks old today, and he is such an amazing beam of light to me.  He has grown so much, he no longer fits in his newborn clothes and is onto the 0-3 months clothes.  He has developed male patterned baldness.  Which I was hoping he wouldn't get but it is happening.  We have been sick for a couple days just with a cold, he is much better but I still have a head cold.  It really affected my milk supply so luckily I had backup milk pumped.  He has been a lot more fussier at night and during the day, I can't seem to get any work done.  Which is driving me crazy, I have to be productive and with a baby that is just not happening.  I finished his nursery finally this week and we have officially moved all into my parents house. It really feels different to be living with my parents with my own child but Joshua is in Portland finishing his Master's in Early Childhood Education and I just couldn't live in a one bedroom apartment downtown with him gone all the time and have tones of homework when he gets home. I thought it would be better to be with my parents for the time being and Jasper could have lots of time with his Grandparents.  Plus we will go to Portland every other week to visit Joshua.
Jasper is getting quite a grip! Usually on my hair or necklace, but every once in awhile he'll hang on to a toy for a bit.  He is 10.2 # he seemed to loose a little weight while we were sick.  He now lifts his head for a long time and loves his Tummy time.  He rolls and kicks those feet like crazy. Things are going great.  I have been trying to get Jasper to get on a routine but he just wont do it do I figured it will happen when he is ready.  We will be in California next week for our Baby Shower and Meet Jasper Party.  These 6 weeks have flown by and I really need to document more, it is all going so fast.

I had the pleasure of doing a wedding in Hood River last weekend.  My Best Friend Annie's friend Sierra was getting married and I made the cake and cupcakes.  It was really difficult to deliver 3 hours away but well worth it the site was beautiful.

my table but I couldn't set it up because of the heat

After the wedding we went to see Joshua in Portland and spent the weekend.  We had a lot of fun going to Lake Oswego Farmers market and the Willamette Falls  and Joshua took us out to dinner at Habibi,  my fav.  We had so much fun and really hated to leave.

Joshua took me to the Waffle window and I love me some Waffles

Jasper's Woodland, Tribal, Eclectic Nursery!

Jasper's room is finally done.  With all the moving from Portland back to Bend we have finally set up house.  I will be sharing a room with my little man.  I feel that is the best for us since I am breastfeeding and it is just great to be able to hear his little coos and cries.   I have been planning this room for ever.  Joshua and I wanted to do Woodland themed with a Navajo  no matter if we had a Girl or a Boy.  Luckily for me we had a boy.  I have been collecting things through out the years and wanted to tie them all together.  We decided to go with a Woodland, Navajo, 70's feel with eclectic vibes.   I know it is really a lot but we decided this will probably be our only Child and why not go all out.  I had a budget of $300 for the room and I stuck to it.  We did have a lot of things.  I got the crib for $30
and it cost me $12 to paint it.  We got the dresser for $100 which is the changing table and got the extra fabric for $20.  Some throw pillows and a picture frame from West elm, I yet to fill with a photo. I made the mobile with a manzanita  branch and just hung feathers and the felted fox I bought Joshua for xmas with bakers twin.   It all came together just the space is a tad small but as soon as Joshua and I are living together again Jasper will have his own room.  Hope you enjoy.

The Beaming Light of Our Life

This has been such a hectic time and now that things are calming down hopefully we will have a routine everyday and I will be blogging again.  I switched to this new blog so we can write about our Family life and things that make me happy.  Jasper is now 6 weeks tomorrow and I will write a blog post updating him.

One Month Post a little late.
September 1st, 2012

Happy one month, Jasper!  It's hard to believe that four whole weeks ago I gave birth to our little man.  I've already forgotten so much about the whole experience and now I understand how women are able to go through birth more than once ( not me though). My experience was pretty crazy, yet my mind has already seemed to glaze over all of the painful parts and really just focus on the outcome. It's funny how that works!

This month has been absolutely amazing.  I love being a Mama.  I adore everything about it- my heart has grown immensely over these past weeks and it's truly the best feeling in the world. As far as Jasper's progress, he is 10 pounds and an inch taller.  I'm so happy breastfeeding is going so well.  We may try and introduce a bottle soon (with pumped milk) so I can have a bit of a break from time to time and get more than 2 hours of sleep, which will be really nice.    It seems like he grows and changes every single day.  The biggest change is how much more alert and aware he is.  Now he can focus on things, move his head and eyes to follow objects, and he really responds to my voice.  He has a lot of strength in his neck and can hold it up for long periods of time too.  He's outgrown all of his newborn clothes and is now into 0-3 months.

As far as my workout and getting my pre-baby body back, I've been walking almost everyday and Hiking.  I will start going to the gym in October.   I miss it so much and I'm looking forward to getting in some good workouts.  I definitely still don't look like my "old" self, and really, I don't care too much.  I'm happy, and I'm focusing on Jasper and being a Mom. I know that with my return to my normal workouts in a couple of weeks and starting to eat wholesome again I will feel even better and the weight will come off in time.  There's no rush.

Since Jasper was born he has meet so many new people of friends and family.  We have been non stop since he was born and finally moving back to Bend we can now set up a routine.  Joshua is finally at his Apartment in Portland and I will be visiting every other week.

Here are some photos form his 30 days of life!
