1/3 Of A Year Down

Can you see how busy this baby has kept me? I haven’t blogged in a whole month.   In reality I have found many other projects to do and he keeps me pretty occupied with his cuteness.
Little Doodle Bug is now a whopping 17 weeks old. I seriously can’t believe the changes that have taken place in the last couple of months. Everyday he gets stronger, bigger, sweeter, and even louder.  Jasper has been “talking” up a storm quite a bit. It’s so loud that you can’t hear anything over it. I’m interested to see if it translates to a talkative kid.  He is still spitting up I have even given up sugar for him and wheat (MY LIFE LINE) it has been 3 weeks and no improvement with his spitting up.  We will just have to stick it out.  I guess Joshua doesn’t need to get me perfume this year cause I have a fresh scent of sour milk that seems to be so ever popular.  He has his First real pediatrician appointment next week, so we will talk to her about all his spitting up and farting.  We are not really concerned because he is gaining weight on our home scale and seems to be in no pain, actually he smiles while doing it.
Probably the biggest thing that has happened since my last blog post is that Jasper and I couldn’t take being away from Papa for any longer, and neither could Joshua so we packed up our bags and have been staying with Joshua in Portland since.  It has been really challenging to stay in a one bedroom Apartment in Downtown Portland with a 4 month old.  It rains a lot here so making us get out on a daily basis usually ends up with me soaked.  Joshua is having a blast getting to see Jasper grow everyday and his little quarks.  The bummer is I am absolutely bored and Joshua has so much school, homework, and his field placement job that we don’t get to have time together just hanging out like we always had.  But if it means Joshua gets to hang with our little guy and gets to wake up to his smiley face than I will tuff it out.  We really are both happy to be a family together.
The great thing is we will be in Bend and Montana for 5 weeks over the Holidays to visit my Parents and my Brother and his girlfriend Krissy.
He really is growing up fast – he grabs toys, can put lots of pressure on his leggies, laughs a lot, and is developing his upper body strength.  He loves to stand, while we are holding him of course but his new thing is he can hold on to the couch and stand with our assistance.  He is rolling back and forth which he thinks is the greatest thing ever. One of the best things that have happened in the last month is that we are now on a real schedule, which is mostly important for our sleep (and sanity). Jasper now sleeps in his crib from 8:30 pm to 6 am, waking only twice to eat. Not too shabby!  (Unless he is going through a growth spurts then its no holds bar)

Thanksgiving was awesome.   Just being with Jasper and all of his Grandparents was such a great memory.  We ate a lot and Jasper got some really yummy milk and went to bed early that night. My parents are coming this weekend to go to a winery and Jasper and I will be tagging along to let Joshua study for finals.
My old boss’s called me a couple weeks ago and took me out to lunch and made a proposal to me about me coming back just as a cake consultant, I thought about it and it sounded great.  The truth is I am so bored and really miss baking professionally anything to get back in to the kitchen I would of taken.  I basically make my own hours, they tell me what of there 50 cakes they want me to redecorate or new ones they have and I go in and create and leave once they approve, then I go and teach it to all the bakers and pastry chefs.  Pretty simple and I don’t have to be away from Jasper long, plus Papa loves hanging with his little man alone.
Can’t wait to post about Montana.  My brother Stephen will get to meet his Nephew for the first time and I know Jasper will just adore his Tio.
I am definitely trying to figure this whole parenting thing out; I am having a fun, challenging, unexpected (meaning spit up), proudest, humbling, and heart-warming experience being a Mother.  Till next time.  Enjoy the Photos!!!

Loves belly time and rolling now too

Takes that Binky in and out of his mouth with his hands.

Loves putting his whole fist in his mouth

Thanksgiving was enjoyed by my Parents and Joshua's.
